My Father Never Dreamed is about the journey of a young man one magical summer. It takes place in Northern Ontario cottage country during the early 1970's. Tanner Grey is part drifter, part gambler and part observer who is searching for who he is and where he belongs in the world. He is interested in the lives and stories of others and how they all relate. The strong, the weak and the down and outers all have value to his ears.

He also looks back at the world of his father, a man he doesn't really know, and tries to see the difference and the commonalities they both share. One was a man of the sea and lived in a world of survival while the other lives in a world of freedoms where all things are possible. Gambling was their only common ground. My Father Never Dreamed is a story of love, loss and the daily fears we all live with.
